Breast Cancer Awareness Evening a huge success
15/11/2007

The Ladies Evening held at the Retreat at Aphrodite Hills on November 8, was a huge success and helped raise a generous amount of awareness and money in aid of Breast Cancer. Indulgent spa treatments and sumptuous nibbles were the order of an enjoyable, yet educational evening, and all money raised at the event will be donated to Europa Donna Cyprus and the Cancer Patients Support Group in Paphos (CPSG).

The Ladies function, which helped raise money and support for breast cancer patients, attracted over 150 ladies, who made their donations towards this charity cause and were informed about screening and the importance of early diagnosis. What’s more, the ladies enjoyed an array of mini spa treatments, kindly offered by The Retreat, ranging from stone therapy, to reiki, hand, scalp and foot massages throughout the evening. Delicious canapés and wine were served throughout The Retreat, while an exciting prize draw raffle offered lavish gifts such as full day spa packages, accommodation at the InterContinental, golf and tennis lessons at the Resort.

Mrs. Evi Papadopoulou, Vice President of Europa Donna and Sue Tate of the CPSG addressed the group, saying that it was wonderful to see so many ladies turn out in support of this very important cause. They also thanked The Retreat for organizing this wonderful wellness – focused event to raise funds for the charities and emphasized the importance of screening for early detection.

George Tavelis, Spa Director, wrapped the evening with a pleasant surprise, advising that 10% of the proceeds from all spa vouchers purchased between November 1, 2007 and January 6, 2008 will go towards Europa Donna Cyprus.
