Corresponding to the well known tradition of fish and meat meze, Cyprus offers a great choice of local wines. Red or white, sweet or dry, in Cyprus you find a great choice and history of wine and grapes, including the sweet Commandaria dessert wine.
With our new Dionysus Insider Package, you can now improve your knowledge of wine and Cyprus. During your visit to the Cyprus Wine Museum in Erimi, you will learn and taste traditional wine production and enjoy a journey through the centuries of wine appreciation. The museum is using traditional and contemporary methods of presenting wine production and storage. Walk among ancient jars and vases, medieval drinking vessels, and old documents and instruments. As you will be close to Kolossi village, you will have the opportunity to visit the castle -a medieval Commanderie of the Knights Hospitaller that gave their name to the famous Commandaria wine first produced by them.
Afterwards, proceed on the Route of Wine and visit Omodos village, famous for its handicraft and lace. Later, have a final wine and small snack at Linos winery. Upon your return to the InterContinental Aphrodite Hills Resort Hotel, your accommodation will include stay in a comfortable and traditionally furnished Standard Room equipped with a private balcony or terrace and marbled bathroom with separate shower and vanity unit.
