Mountain excursion for property owners

A taste of Cyprus and its Easter traditional customs proved to be more than just a learning experience for British property owners at Aphrodite Hills!

Nearly 35 property owners joined in an excursion, organized by Lanitis Development, to the picturesque villages of Vasa Kilaniou and Omodos. The village tour stirred enthusiasm around the fascinating myths of goddess Aphrodite and Cyprus' rich traditions and customs. At Vasa, the group was intrigued by this traditional local village and its simplistic way of living. The excursion’s highlight was a visit to Mrs. Popi, Vasa’s traditional baker, who demonstrated the preparation and baking of the "flaounes" (traditional Easter cheese pies). The group then had coffee at a "kafenio" (coffee shop), followed by a sumptuous lunch at "Pyrgos Restaurant" where everyone enjoyed an authentic Cyprus cuisine and local wine.

Ultimately, everyone enjoyed a stroll around the cobbled streets of Omodos, with mini-stops to sample the local "arkatena" bread and coffee at the local "kafenio". A visit to the Monastery of the Holy Cross was of course a "must".
