Captains Day 2018

The Cancer Patient’s Support Group in Paphos was the chosen charity, as Tony Raphael, the Captain of Aphrodite Hills Golf Club ran his Annual Charity Captain’s Day on Wednesday 10^th of October 2018.

The Captain’s Day 2018 commenced with a field of 96 members and their guests set out to compete each other on the golf course. Apart from the main competition there were also many individual prizes, including both straightest drive and nearest to the pins. Members and their Guests had the opportunity to Beat the Pro on Hole 17 and raised funds for the Charity Group the total amount of €540.

In the evening a Cocktail Reception was held outside at the Clubhouse Terrace followed by a Barbeque Dinner. The Clubhouse hosted more than 100 members and their guests, who all enjoyed the excellent food selection prepared by our F&B Department. During the dinner a raffle competition was organized by Tony who went around and collected more funds for the charity and some fantastic prizes for the winners. After the dinner, the Director of Golf, Andrew Darker started the Prize Giving Ceremony together with the Captains presenting and handing the prizes to the winners.

Last but not least the Golf Team would like to congratulate all winners, the Members and their guests for their continuous support throughout the year especially this year during the remodeling of our greens and clubhouse. The night went on late with entertainment and dancing. It was a great day and evening and thanks to our Captains for most memorable year! For the record the sum raised by our Captain and Members in excess of €8.000 for the Captain’s Charity.
