1. ELIGIBILITY AND MEMBERSHIP STATUS
Membership is available to Cyprus Residents only and is granted at the sole discretion of Aphrodite Hills Racket Club, hereafter referred as ‘The Club. Adult membership applies to individuals aged 18 years and over. Junior membership applies to players aged 4 to 17 years old. Junior members may use courts until 17:00 unless otherwise authorized by management. Membership is personal to the applicant and may not be transferred, assigned, shared or lent to any third party.
2. MEMBERSHIP DURATION
Annual membership is valid for a continuous period of 12 months commencing from the agreed start date as stated on the Membership Application Form. Membership becomes active only upon receipt of full payment of all applicable fees. Membership automatically expires at the end of the 12-month period unless renewed.
3. FEES AND PAYMENTS
All membership fees are payable in full at the time of application and are strictly nonrefundable. No refunds, credits or extensions shall be granted for non-attendance, illness, relocation, travel restrictions or any other personal circumstances. Additional services including coaching sessions, tournaments, events, court hire for members and retail purchases are charged separately. The Club reserves the right to amend membership fees annually.
Membership fees, structure and benefits are subject to annual review and may change upon renewal.
4. COURT BOOKINGS AND AVAILABILITY
Members may reserve courts up to 7 days in advance, subject to availability. Members may hold a maximum of 2 active bookings at any one time. The Club reserves the right to limit advance bookings to prevent court hoarding and to ensure fair access for all members.
Court bookings are limited to a maximum of 1 hour per day per member. Members may share a court booking for doubles play within this limit. In addition, members may join another member’s booking on the same day, provided their total court time does not exceed 2 hours per day.
Additional same-day bookings may be permitted subject to availability and at the discretion of Club management.
The Aphrodite Hills Coaching Team retains priority access to courts at all times. During peak periods including April, May, July, August and October, court allocation may be restricted due to coaching programs and events. The Club will aim to ensure reasonable access for members during these periods; however, court availability is not guaranteed.
The Club reserves the right to close or restrict access to facilities for maintenance, repairs, tournaments, events, weather conditions or operational requirements. Such closures shall not give rise to any entitlement to compensation or refund.
Membership does not guarantee court availability at all times, particularly during peak periods, coaching programs or events.
Padel court bookings are not included in the membership. Members are entitled to a 30% discount off the official published rates. No priority booking access applies.
5. GUEST POLICY
Each member may invite one to three guests playing per session per court. Guest fees are €10 per hour per player for Tennis (Hard and Clay). Guests are limited to 5 visits per calendar year. All guest fees must be settled prior to commencement of play.
Guest rates only apply for bookings where the member is playing.
6.CANCELLATIONS
6.1 Member and Client Cancellations
Court bookings and all coaching sessions, including private and group lessons, must be cancelled no less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time.
If a member or client cancels a lesson less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time, 100% of the lesson fee will be charged.
Failure to attend a booked lesson or court without prior notice will also result in 100% of the applicable fee being charged.
6.2 Club Cancellations
The Club reserves the right to cancel or reschedule court bookings, matches, programs or coaching sessions due to weather conditions, court safety concerns, coach illness, operational requirements or any other reasonable circumstance.
Where a session is cancelled by the Club, the member or client will be offered either:
- a rescheduled session, or
- a credit to be used within a reasonable time period
No cash refunds shall be provided.
Padel court bookings are subject to the same cancellation policy as tennis bookings.
6.3 Exceptional Circumstances
Any request for waiver of cancellation charges due to exceptional circumstances should be considered at the sole discretion of the Racket Club management. Supporting documentation may be required.
7. CONDUCT AND USE OF FACILITIES
Members must check in at the Club’s Reception prior to commencing play. Appropriate tennis attire and non-marking footwear must be worn at all times. Jeans, beachwear, outdoor shoes and flip flops are not permitted on court. Playing without a shirt is prohibited.
Only the Aphrodite Hills Coaching Team is permitted to provide coaching on site. Any form of external coaching, whether paid or unpaid, is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of membership without refund.
Members must use all facilities and equipment responsibly and shall be liable for any damage caused through misuse or negligence.
The Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership in cases of misconduct, abusive behavior, damage to property or breach of rules.
Smoking, narcotics and the misuse of alcohol within The Club premises are strictly prohibited.
8. HEALTH AND LIABILITY
By purchasing a membership and for the entire duration of its validity, the Member represents and warrants that they are in good physical condition and medically fit to participate in tennis and all related sporting activities. Participation is undertaken entirely at the member’s own risk. The Club shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage or theft of personal property.
9. DATA PROTECTION
The Club may collect and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Members may receive communications relating to The Club operations, events and promotions. Photographs of facilities may be used for promotional purposes where individuals are incidental to the image.
10. TERMINATION
The Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership without prior notice in the event of serious breach of these Terms and Conditions, non-payment of fees or behavior deemed detrimental to the Club. No refund shall be payable in the event of termination due to breach.
11. FORCE MAJEURE
The Club shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance of its obligations where such failure results from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government regulations, public health measures, utility failures or industrial disputes.
12. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. Any disputes arising in connection with membership shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Cypriot courts.
