The players are expected to play in the spirit of the game: acting with integrity, showing consideration to others, taking good care of the course.
Tee times and check-in
- Starting times have 9 minutes intervals.
- The Club reserves the right to pair up players into 4 balls.
- Players must always adhere to the marshals and starters instructions.
- All players must check-in for their booked tee time before commencement of play.
- Golf rounds are non-transferable between golfers.
Cancellation Policy
The following cancellation policy applies to all reserved tee times:
- 30 days cancellation notice prior to date of play required for advance pre-bookings otherwise full rates apply
- 7 days cancellation notice required for bookings made one month prior to play otherwise full rates will apply
- 24 hours cancellation notice required for bookings made one week prior to play otherwise full rates will apply
- Non-refundable reserved tee times require full prepayment at the time of booking. If the tee time is cancelled it will not be refunded and cannot be transferred to a new booking.
- Cancellations are only deemed cancelled after AHG has confirmed the cancellation in writing. “No-shows” shall be charged at 100% of the indicated price of this agreement.
“No-shows” shall be charged at 100% of the price confirmed upon reservation. These are the reserved and confirmed tee times for which the guests have not turned up to play or were not cancelled within the cancelation period.
Handicaps, Speed of Play and Etiquette
- Aphrodite Hills Golf Club handicap restrictions are: 28 for men and 36 for ladies.
- The targeted time for a round of golf for visitors is around 4 and ½ hours for a 4 ball.
- Slower players must permit faster players to go through or follow the marshal’s instructions which may include missing a hole to catch up with the players in front.
- Avoid practice on the course as much as possible.
- Customary golf etiquette should always be observed.
- Possible lost ball: golfers have 3 minutes to search for a lost ball.
- Call “fore” if your ball goes towards properties or there is danger of hitting anyone on the golf course.
- Rake the bunker after play and place the rake half in and half out.
- Repair pitch marks while waiting for other players in the group.
- Replace all divots; golfers must replace all cut turf.
- Range balls must be used only on the practice area.
Any player not respecting the etiquette, unable to play at suitable level, or unable to keep up the place of play, or refuse to follow the course marshal’s instructions will be asked to leave the course. No financial compensation will be offered under these circumstances.
Golf buggies
- Aphrodite Hills is a buggy mandatory course.
- The buggy fee paid does not include the usage of the buggy for the practice areas.
- Aphrodite Hills golf buggies are equipped with a GPS system.
- Drivers must be minimum 18 years of age. No exceptions will be made to this rule!
- A buggy may carry a maximum of 2 persons and 2 golf bags.
- Health and safety operating instructions displayed on the buggies must be strictly followed.
- Players are responsible for any damage made to the buggies or other hired items during their round. All players will be asked to sign a disclaimer at the time of check-in at the Golf Shop Reception.
Dress Code
- Championship Golf Course – Any recognized golfing apparel that can be purchased from a professional shop is acceptable. Men’s shirts with collars and tailored shorts or trousers. Ladies’ shirts without sleeves to have collars. Denim and other sports clothing are not deemed as golfing apparel.
- Clubhouse and practice areas – Casual clothing is acceptable with sleeves for men, suitable footwear such as training shoes are allowed. Shirts must be worn at all times. No swimwear or sportswear permitted.
Spectator Policy
Spectators are allowed on the Aphrodite Hills Golf Course only under the below terms and conditions:
- The spectator can only be approved at the time of check-in. Approval will only be granted if the second seat on the buggy is not reserved by another player.
- All spectators must comply with the established rules and dress code of Aphrodite Hills Golf Course.
- Spectators are only permitted to ride and remain within the confines of a golf buggy while on the course.
- A maximum of one (1) spectator per player will be approved for each round. A maximum of two (2) buggies per tee time will be allowed.
- A maximum of two (2) occupants are allowed per golf buggy.
- Minors under the age of twelve (12) require special permission to access the course as spectators. Under no circumstances are junior spectators permitted to operate a golf buggy.
- The golfer assumes full responsibility for their accompanying spectator. By doing so, the golfer releases Aphrodite Hills Resort Ltd and its patrons from any liability for any injuries sustained by the spectator while on the course.
- Aphrodite Hills Resort Ltd reserves the absolute right to deny spectator access at any given time.
Bad Weather Policy
In the event of any suspension of play due to bad weather conditions the AHG golf team will endeavour to ensure that the rounds will be completed on the same day. This is subject to maintaining player safety at all times.
The course will be closed for the following reasons:
- Flooded greens, course or road and pathways.
- Thunder and lightning.
- If the conditions are bad enough in any way as to be considered dangerous to the players or damaging to the golf course – i.e., fog, frost & flooding.
In the event of bad weather, a decision will be made as soon as possible each morning and hourly, thereafter. The Tour Operator/Hotel should contact the Pro Shop to be informed and updated on the condition of the golf course.
In the above situations, the following conditions will apply:
- No “No-Show” green fee will be charged when the client has contacted the Pro Shop in advance.
- The client must re-schedule the tee time for a future date at this time and where possible all rescheduled tee times should be made on the actual day of the bad weather; the Pro Shop will move the booking and make the appropriate notes.
In the case that the course is closed after the client has started his round, the following conditions will apply:
- If the client has played less than 9 holes, a bad weather voucher for 18 holes will be given, depending on the method of green fee payment. Valid for play within 7 days.
- If the client has played more than 9 holes, a bad weather voucher for 9 holes will be given, depending on the method of green fee payment. Valid for play within 7 days.
- If the guests are unable to re-schedule their round, the Golf Administration Department must be contacted.
- If the players decide to leave the course of their own accord when it is not closed, no refund/voucher will be given.
Juniors
- Children under the age of 12 must always be supervised by an adult. Juniors under the age of 6 are not allowed on the championship golf course.
- Juniors under 18 holes must always have an adult to drive the buggy for them on the championship course.
Golf Bags
- Each player must have their own golf bag with their own set of clubs. Sets of clubs can be hired at the Golf Proshop, subject to availability.
Lockers
- Lockers are available in the changing rooms on a daily basis. A returnable deposit fee will be payable at the Golf Proshop, in the event of a lost key the deposit will not be refunded.
Food and Beverages
- Beverages and food are not allowed to be brought in The Club or stored anywhere within the golf facilities.
GDPR
- Upon agreeing with these Terms and Conditions, all guests are consenting to Aphrodite Hills to stay in touch with them for the purposes of sending all the information about news, events, activities, new products and services offered by The Company, advertising campaigns or promotional services.
Closure and force majeure
Under the circumstances of Professional or Sponsored Golf Tournaments and other events, the management reserves the right to close the golf facilities for a period of about 12 days per event.
In the unlikely event of fire upon the sounding of fire alarms, all guests must evacuate the facility and go straight to the assembly points, situated in the car parks to both sides of the Clubhouse.
Aphrodite Hills Golf Club will not be liable for delays, damages of failures in performance due to events of force majeure (causes beyond our reasonable control), including, but not limited to, acts of a governmental body, acts of God, pandemics, acts of third parties, fires, floods, strikes or other labour related disputes, an inability to obtain necessary equipment or services, the severing of off-site communication lines by a third party, or other events of force majeure.
Local Rules
Please check at the Start for any additional Temporary Local Rules
- Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)
- Where the course adjoins a public footpath, a ball is Out of Bounds if it is beyond the white dots (stakes are indicative only).
- Beyond white stakes not associated with the above. Beyond any property wall, fence or hedge.
- Where white stakes are immediately adjacent to a cart path or wall, the boundary is defined by the outside edge, stakes are indicative only.
- A ball that is played from one side of a road which is defined as out of bounds and comes to rest on the other side of that road is out of bounds. This is true even if the ball comes to rest on another part of the course that is in bounds for other holes (e.g. 11th to 16th).
- Clubhouse and surrounding areas (including practice putting greens).
- Within the defined maintenance area.
- Penalty Areas (Rule 17)
- Are defined by red or yellow stakes and/or red or yellow lines. In all cases where both stakes and lines are present, lines take precedence.
- Drop Zones – For your convenience, clarity and to assist with pace of play, a drop zone has been provided on Holes 7 and 15. Hole 7, if it is known your ball crossed the greenside edge before going into the penalty area, two club-lengths lateral relief is available.
- Abnormal Course Conditions (Rule 16.1)
- Ground under Repair (GUR) – Relief MUST be taken (except edging grooves)
- Any area bounded by white painted lines, blue stakes or signs.
- The Grass Nursery area between the 10th and 18th Hole
- Erosional damage in bunkers caused by excess water (washouts)
- Edging grooves near Putting Green (only if the ball lies on the groove).
- The Ancient Kiln on the 1st hole and the Olive Presses on the 8th hole as encircled by a white line. The drop zone must be used.
- The area defined by blue stakes with green tops on the left of hole 18 is a no play/no go zone. Players are not permitted to enter the area for any reason.
- Immovable Obstructions
- All cart paths. Additionally, the steps on Hole 14 (including edges).
- Walls adjacent to paths, penalty areas, teeing areas (but see “4. Integral” below).
- Irrigation units, including sprinkler heads, control boxes and satellite stations.
- All course furniture. (Including but not limited to:- information posts/structures, protection fencing, marker posts, ball washers, waste bins, and bench seats).
Rule 16 – Exceptions: No relief when clearly unreasonable to play ball (see 16.1(3). 16.2(a) and 16.3a(1)).
- Integral Parts of the Course (Rule 2.3)
- Free standing stone walls (including but not limited to holes 5, 11 and 15).
- Any rock faces, natural or man-made.
Penalty for Breach of a Local Rule: Match Play – Loss of Hole; Stroke Play – General Penalty (2 Strokes)
